My Approach
I believe therapy is most effective when it feels collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns, build on your strengths, and develop tools that support you both inside and outside of therapy.
My approach is trauma-informed and culturally responsive. I believe understanding you also means understanding the experiences, relationships, culture, identities, and environments that have shaped you. Our work will honor the values, experiences, and identities that are important to you.
I draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and IFS-informed work, integrating these approaches based on your individual needs and goals.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that can help you process traumatic or distressing experiences that continue to affect you in the present. When appropriate, I integrate EMDR into our work collaboratively, with attention to your comfort, readiness, and individual goals.
